The Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum (FBQ Museum) is one of the largest private museums in the world, housing an extraordinary collection assembled over five decades by Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani. Located in a fortress-style building constructed of local stone with traditional turrets in Al Shahaniya, the museum reflects Qatar’s heritage and identity while showcasing global artifacts.
The museum’s collection includes over 30,000 items spanning Islamic art, Qatari heritage, vehicles, jewelry, and currency. Exhibits range from prehistoric fossils and early Islamic pieces to modern memorabilia, offering a “Cabinet of Curiosities” that connects cultures across continents.
Among the highlights are a remarkable display of vintage vehicles, traditional Qatari crafts, weapons, and manuscripts. The museum serves as an educational and cultural landmark, preserving Qatar’s heritage and illustrating the shared traditions that link civilizations from Europe to South Asia.
